Menstrulog
Menstruation tracking apps currently on the market have a focus on fertility-tracking rather than symptom tracking and use very gendered design language. I wanted to create the UI/UX project to be gender neutral in design and use person-first language in relation to symptom and pain tracking. With symptom tracking and quantifying pain, challenges are presented as not all users will experience pain the same way. I researched chronic pain advocacy groups and found they advocated for descriptive language rather than arbitrary numeric pain scales. Other features of the mobile app design mockup include: ability to create tables and graphs to track symptoms over time, generating documents in-order to easily share in-app information with health providers, and in-app search for in-network reproductive health care providers near users location. I created and designed the project using Figma and Adobe Illustrator.
