LunarVentures

Project Specifics

Mockup showing the LunarVentures website on a laptop

While traveling and visiting National Parks across the United States, I stayed in different campgrounds near or in my destinations. The Great Sand Dunes of Colorado was otherworldly and unlike anything I have visited in the United States. The website for the RV park, The Great Sand Dunes Oasis, was stuck in the 90s, but tried to maintain the awe and mysticism of the Sand Dunes. I was inspired by the website to design and create an Airbnb experience for the Great Crater Copernicus, located on the Moon.

Design ideation

I used Figma to wireframe and design three web pages, including a home splash page, a catalog of booking sites, and a page focusing on individual hotel stay specifics. I wanted to maintain a consistent sci-fi aesthetic that felt exciting and professional without leaning into Star Wars territory. Throughout the design process, the site experienced different variations until finally landing on the finished design state. Featured is the first design mockup, showing elements that made it to the final version of the website design.
